So, who am I without a camera in my hands? Well, to be honest, I’m cheeky, I love watching TV shows and movies and gain heaps of inspiration from the techniques and lighting used. I’m a huge Liverpool Football fan, plus I enjoy hitting the kitchen and cooking beautiful plates of food for my family. Mushroom risotto anyone?
When things aren't too hectic my wife Jodie and I hit random road trips for some leisure time where we can sleep in, re-boot, eat at nice restaurants and generally just chill out together.
So where did my photography passion commence? Well, my journey into becoming a wedding photographer came later in life, after a realisation that I was not doing something that I loved. When I look back I think to myself, how many of us go through our lives working a job we just happen to fall into? Before you know it our dreams get further away and we begin to forget who we are and what we are meant to be doing. So, with thanks to my amazingly supportive (and beautiful) wife Jodie, I had the opportunity to hit the photography books and complete a Photography Diploma. Then in 2010, we saw the birth of David Maltby Images.
Experience is the key to success and I have captured over 550+ weddings. My Fan Mail page is also a testament to the many happy couples who have asked me to capture their special day.
My wedding photographer coverage is generally based on the Central Coast, Sydney, the Hunter Valley and Newcastle areas. But hey, if you wish to cover travel expenses I can pretty much shoot at whatever location you desire.
