Murrays Beach & Caves Beach SLSC Wedding | Adam & Mark | Central Coast NSW
Some couples spend months agonising over venues, menus and table centrepieces. Adam and Mark knew exactly what they wanted — relaxed, low-key and completely them. A beach ceremony with their closest people, some good food, good music and a reception where everyone actually enjoyed themselves.
On the Central Coast, that combination is hard to beat.
Adam & Mark — Murrays Beach Ceremony, Central Coast NSW
The ceremony was held at Murrays Beach — a sheltered, peaceful spot that sits right on the edge of Lake Macquarie and has a quality about it that's hard to describe until you've been there. The water is calm, the surrounding bushland is quiet, and on a clear day the light across the lake is genuinely beautiful to photograph in.
Adam and Mark exchanged their vows in an intimate ceremony surrounded by the people who matter most to them. The atmosphere was completely unhurried — which always makes my job easier and the photographs better. When couples aren't nervous or performing for the camera, the real moments surface naturally, and that's what I'm there to capture.
After the ceremony the guests gathered for drinks and food while we took a little time for portraits. A relaxed couple in a beautiful location — exactly the conditions that produce the best images of the day.
Caves Beach Surf Life Saving Club — A Wedding Photographer's Perspective
The reception moved to Caves Beach Surf Life Saving Club — a venue that suits a certain kind of couple perfectly. It's unpretentious, it has a genuine beach club feel, and the casual setting creates a reception atmosphere that's hard to manufacture in a formal ballroom.
For Adam and Mark it was a natural fit. The cocktail-style setup meant guests mingled freely rather than being anchored to assigned seats. There was jazz funk on the soundtrack, paella on the menu, and speeches that felt genuine rather than rehearsed. The drone shots across the beach and lake captured the whole setting from above and gave a real sense of the location.
If you're planning a Central Coast wedding and you want something that feels relaxed and genuinely local rather than generic, the Caves Beach SLSC is worth serious consideration. It sits right on one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline on the Central Coast, and the combination of the beach backdrop, the casual atmosphere and the quality of the venue team makes it a wonderful place to spend an evening.
The Reception
The evening unfolded exactly as Adam and Mark had planned — easy, warm and full of genuine moments. Cocktail receptions photograph differently to sit-down dinners — there's more movement, more spontaneous conversation and more opportunity to capture people when they're completely off guard. I work quietly through these evenings, staying in the background until a moment presents itself.
The speeches were heartfelt, the dance floor came alive as the night went on and the whole occasion had the relaxed energy of a group of people who were genuinely happy to be celebrating together. By the end of the night it had been exactly the kind of day Adam and Mark had envisioned from the start — and exactly the kind of wedding I love photographing.
A Note on Central Coast Beach Weddings
The Central Coast has some of the best beach and waterfront wedding locations in NSW — from Murrays Beach and Caves Beach to Terrigal, Avoca, Pearl Beach and beyond. I'm based in East Gosford and photograph beach weddings across the region regularly.
If you're planning a beach or waterfront wedding on the Central Coast and you'd like to chat about photography, I'd love to hear from you.
