Crowne Plaza Terrigal Wedding Photography | Claudia & Matt | Central Coast NSW

Some weddings are contained — one venue, one ceremony, one location for the whole day. And then there are weddings like Claudia and Matt's, where the day moves through multiple locations, each one completely different from the last, and you arrive at the reception having already photographed what feels like three weddings in one.

It made for a genuinely memorable day to photograph — and some of my favourite images from the Central Coast.

Claudia & Matt — Crowne Plaza Terrigal, Central Coast NSW

The ceremony was held at St George Coptic Orthodox Church in Kensington, Sydney — a beautiful and deeply meaningful setting for Claudia and Matt's vows. Coptic Orthodox ceremonies have a richness and formality to them that creates extraordinary photographic moments. The architecture, the ritual, the genuine emotion of a couple surrounded by their community — it's a privilege to photograph.

After the ceremony the day moved to the Central Coast, with bridal portraits at the Japanese Gardens in East Gosford. And then the rain arrived.

Rain at the Japanese Gardens

The Japanese Gardens at East Gosford are one of my favourite portrait locations on the Central Coast — the pagodas, the ornamental bridges, the manicured greenery. They photograph beautifully in any light, but there's something about overcast and rainy conditions that actually works in your favour as a photographer. The light is soft and even, the colours are richer, and couples tend to relax because the pressure of a perfect sunny day lifts.

Claudia and Matt were completely unfazed by the weather, which made the whole session feel relaxed and natural. Some of the strongest images from their day came from those wet portraits at the gardens — which is so often how it goes when couples decide to embrace whatever the day brings rather than fight it.

Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific — A Wedding Photographer's Perspective

The Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific is one of the premier wedding venues on the Central Coast, and for good reason. Sitting right on the beachfront in Terrigal, the views across the ocean from the reception rooms are genuinely stunning — the kind of backdrop that requires almost nothing from you as a photographer because it does so much of the work on its own.

The venue itself is polished and well-appointed, with elegant interiors that work beautifully for both ceremony and reception photography. The combination of the ocean views, the quality of the space and the professional event team makes it one of the most consistently enjoyable venues I photograph at on the Central Coast.

If you're planning a Central Coast wedding and the Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific is on your list, I'd highly recommend visiting in person. The ocean views in particular are something that needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.

The Reception

The reception at Crowne Plaza Terrigal was everything the ceremony and portraits had promised — warm, celebratory and full of the kind of genuine joy that's a pleasure to document. The elegant room, the ocean backdrop as the light faded outside, the energy of a room full of people who were genuinely happy to be there.

I moved quietly through the evening capturing speeches, the first dance, candid moments between guests at dinner and the energy of the dance floor as the night progressed. By the time the evening wound down, Claudia and Matt had a complete record of a day that covered Sydney, the Central Coast hinterland and the Terrigal beachfront — all in one wedding.

A Note on Central Coast Wedding Photography

I'm based in East Gosford on the Central Coast and photograph weddings at venues across the region regularly — from Crowne Plaza Terrigal and Bells at Killcare to private properties, beaches and everything in between. The Central Coast is one of the most beautiful regions in NSW for weddings, and I never take for granted how lucky I am to call it home.

If you're planning a wedding at Crowne Plaza Terrigal or anywhere else on the Central Coast and you'd like to chat about photography, I'd love to hear from you.
